You probably have a few questions — let us answer them!

WHAT DOES THE HONEYCOMB PATTERN LOOK LIKE?

The Honeycomb pattern resembles a beehive — it has a geometric, three-dimensional appearance. Once the panels are joined together, the wall is transformed into a modern, 3D honeycomb structure. Light and shadow enhance this effect even further, making the wall look dynamic and constantly changing depending on the viewing angle and the lighting.

WHY DO 3D CORK WALL PANELS NEED TO BE ACCLIMATISED BEFORE INSTALLATION?

Cork, like any natural material, responds to its surroundings. That’s why it should be left in the target room for at least 72 hours before installation. During this time, it adapts to the temperature and humidity levels, preventing it from later peeling off or becoming misshapen.

Skipping this step can affect the durability of the installation — the cork may start to detach or even fall off the wall entirely. It’s far better to give it time to settle into the room’s conditions, ensuring the panels are properly prepared and securely fixed.

WHAT TOOLS DO I NEED TO INSTALL THE PANELS?

  • A short-pile velour roller — for applying the adhesive evenly.
  • A spirit level — to help you mount the panels neatly and straight.
  • A measuring tape and pencil — for precise measuring and marking installation lines.
  • A utility knife or a sharp craft knife — for cutting panels to size if you need to adjust them.
  • A clean cloth or sponge — for wiping away any excess adhesive.
  • Work gloves (optional).

HOW TO INSTALL 3D ACOUSTIC WALL PANELS?

  1. Before you reach for the adhesive, make sure your wall is clean, smooth, dry and even. A properly prepared surface — free from dust, stains and old paint — will ensure the panels adhere firmly and securely.
  2. Get the right adhesive — we recommend Wakol D-3540, which we’ve tested many times. A small pack (0.8 kg) is enough for around 170 tiles, while a large one (2.5 kg) will cover approximately 600 pieces.
  3. Apply the adhesive to both the wall and the back of the cork panels. It’s best to use a short-pile velour roller, as this allows you to spread the adhesive evenly and avoid lumps. Cover the entire surface and wait until the adhesive turns transparent.
  4. Press the panels firmly against the wall and make sure they are properly secured. Leave them for 24 hours to allow the adhesive to dry completely.

CAN 3D CORK PANELS BE INSTALLED ON UNEVEN WALLS?

It’s best not to. Cork panels adhere most effectively to smooth, even and clean surfaces. If the wall is uneven or slightly crooked, the panels may stick out, and the joints can become more noticeable.

CAN THE PANELS BE INSTALLED OVER OLD WALLPAPER?

No, old wallpaper can peel off along with the newly installed panels. Additionally, there are often hidden imperfections or dirt beneath the wallpaper that can weaken the adhesive’s grip. It’s definitely better to remove the wallpaper completely, clean the wall thoroughly, and prepare it properly before installation.

WHAT AREA DOES ONE TILE COVER?

One tile covers approximately 0.02 m². This means that if you’d like to cover 1 m² of wall space, you’ll need at least 50 tiles.

ARE THE JOINTS BETWEEN PANELS VISIBLE ON THE WALL?

They’re usually only slightly visible. To minimise their appearance, allow the panels time to acclimatise in the room where they’ll be installed (at least 72 hours). This helps the cork adjust to the temperature and humidity, reducing the risk of larger gaps forming later.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN 3D CORK WALL PANELS?

It’s simple — all you need is a soft cloth or a gentle duster. That’s it! If you come across more stubborn marks, you can use a mild cleaning product that’s safe for cork.

Most importantly: avoid harsh substances like acetone, chlorine or bleach, as these can damage the cork’s structure.

IS 3D CORK SUITABLE FOR A HALLWAY?

Absolutely! It offers many advantages over traditional materials. Wallpaper? Pretty, but it tears and scratches easily — not ideal for a hallway. Paint? It might look great at first, but it quickly scuffs and gets dirty. Ceramic tiles? They’re cold, hard, and make the hallway feel less welcoming.

Cork, on the other hand, is pleasant and warm to the touch, doesn’t wear away as easily as paint, and is more resistant to everyday use than wallpaper. Plus, it brings a natural, cosy feel to the space and even improves acoustics.

CAN THE PANELS BE INSTALLED IN VERY SUNNY AREAS?

We don’t recommend installing cork panels in areas exposed to intense and prolonged sunlight. Like wood, cork is a natural material, and with continuous exposure to strong UV light, it may change colour over time.

If you’re planning to install them in a bright, sunny room, it’s worth taking some precautions — for example, fitting blinds or curtains to reduce direct sunlight, or choosing walls that aren’t in the path of strong sun rays.

Do you want your interior to feel warmer and more natural, but don’t have the time or desire for a full renovation? Paint might be a simple solution, but it doesn’t last. Wallpaper can look striking at first, but it gets dirty easily and soon needs replacing. Decorative cork is a far more interesting option: it brings warmth and a natural touch to your space, while also being practical and durable enough to handle everyday life.

#1 STYLE THAT LASTS FOR YEARS

The honeycomb-inspired pattern has a bold structure and a natural, matte texture. It stands out beautifully against plain, flat walls. It looks modern, but never plasticky — after all, it’s NATURAL cork.

Trends come and go, but decorative cork is a timeless classic that never goes out of style. Of course, stone or concrete can also look “modern”, but they’re cold — the complete opposite of cork. Plastic, on the other hand, fades quickly, loses its “wow” factor, and is problematic for the environment. Cork, however, ages slowly and gracefully — over the years, it only gains more character and charm.

#2 A HEALTHY AND PRACTICAL INTERIOR

Cork is a completely natural material that doesn’t attract dust or accumulate dirt. It’s an excellent choice for allergy sufferers and anyone looking to create a healthier indoor environment. Cork also helps regulate humidity levels, contributing to a more comfortable microclimate at home.

The matte finish isn’t just stylish; it’s practical too. Unlike glossy tiles, it doesn’t reflect light, and you won’t see fingerprints, smudges or everyday marks. Just think how much cleaning time and effort you’ll save!

#3 EASY INSTALLATION — DO IT YOURSELF

You can install Honeycomb cork panels yourself, without having to call in a team of builders. All you need is a roller, good-quality adhesive, and a few simple tools you probably already have at home.

The result? The satisfaction of a job done with your own hands, and a wall that’s both attractive and practical. Plus, the pride and joy of being able to say to your friends, “Yes, I did it myself!”.

#4 QUIETER, WARMER, COSIER

Honeycomb cork panels help to absorb sound and reduce echo in a room. They don’t just look like a honeycomb — the very structure of cork resembles one, too. It’s made up of millions of tiny air-filled cells that effectively absorb noise.

Cork also acts as an extra layer of thermal insulation. It helps keep warmth in during colder days and prevents walls from heating up too quickly in the summer.

#5 A GREEN CHOICE THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree, without cutting down or damaging the tree itself. The bark is collected every 9–12 years, and the tree continues to grow, producing more renewable bark.

Cork is completely biodegradable, meaning it doesn’t burden the planet in the way plastic panels do. Choosing 3D cork is a small gesture, but one that makes a big difference for the environment.
