Have questions? We’re here to help!

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE THE SURFACE BEFORE APPLYING CORK ADHESIVE?

Before installing cork, it’s essential to ensure the surface is clean, dry, and completely free from grease or dust. A well-prepared base allows the adhesive to bond effectively. If the surface is uneven, using a levelling compound is a good idea. Taking the time to prepare the area properly will guarantee a long-lasting and secure adhesion.

HOW MUCH WAKOL D3540 CORK ADHESIVE IS REQUIRED PER SQUARE METRE?

Between 150 and 250 grams of Wakol D3540 cork adhesive is needed per square metre. This means that a 0.8 kg pack will cover approximately 4 m², while a 2.5 kg pack is enough for around 12.5 m².

WHAT SHOULD YOU AVOID WHEN APPLYING CORK ADHESIVE?

Applying too much adhesive can cause the cork to slide, leaving uneven patches and bubbles beneath. Always use only one type of adhesive and avoid mixing different products, as this can affect drying and durability. Before starting, check that the surface is smooth, clean, and dry. If there’s excessive dust, applying a primer will improve adhesion. Remember, a well-prepared base is key to a flawless finish.

Cork adhesives offer exceptional strength and long-lasting performance. Once applied, the cork stays firmly in place for years, with no risk of peeling or shifting. This ensures your space maintains its stylish, natural look with minimal upkeep.

Planning to install cork on a wall? You’ll need an adhesive that’s not only strong but also flexible enough to allow for natural expansion and contraction. For floors, choose a heavy-duty adhesive designed to withstand everyday use. While general contact adhesives exist, it’s best to opt for one specifically formulated for cork. This makes the application process easier, prevents common issues, and guarantees a secure bond. Cork-specific adhesives are designed to work seamlessly with the material, ensuring long-term durability and a worry-free finish.
