WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF USING CORK INFILL FOR SYNTHETIC TURF?
Cork granules make the surface more pleasant to walk on, secure, and softer underfoot. They help the turf stay firmly in place and keep it from moving around. Cork also shields the turf from moisture and UV rays, helping it last longer. It cushions falls – which are pretty common during sports – and lowers the chance of slipping.
CAN GRANULATED CORK BE USED ON ANY KIND OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS?
Absolutely – it works just as well on football pitches as it does on garden lawns, terraces, and ornamental grass. Regardless of pile height, natural cork boosts comfort, keeps the surface steady, and helps it last longer.
DOES CORK INFILL FOR SYNTHETIC TURF HELP KEEP THE TURF COOL?
It does – unlike rubber infill, cork doesn’t heat up so fast. Its natural low thermal conductivity means it warms slowly and stays cool for a longer time. This makes a real difference for players, especially on hot days.
HOW MUCH CORK DO I NEED FOR MY TURF?
1 kg of cork granules covers around 2 m² of artificial grass. That makes it easy to work out how much you’ll need. For example, if your area is 20 m², then you’ll require 10 kg of granulate.
WHAT PACK SIZES DO YOU OFFER FOR CORK INFILL?
Our cork granules come in eight different sizes. You can pick up handy bags of 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, or 20 kg. If you need more, we offer bulk pallets too: half a pallet is 180 kg, a full pallet is 360 kg, two pallets give 720 kg, and three pallets hold 1080 kg.
WHAT’S THE RIGHT WAY TO APPLY CORK?
- Start with a thin and even layer of sand – aim for between 2 and 5 mm thick. This foundation helps stop the granulate from shifting and prevents lumps or unevenness.
- Spread the cork gradually and evenly across the turf. Don’t just pour it all in one go. Use a rake to distribute the granules consistently across the area.
- If you spot spots with too much or too little granulate, simply smooth it out and even the surface as needed.
HOW SHOULD I STORE LEFTOVER CORK GRANULATE?
Keep it in a dry area, away from direct sun. Sealed containers or bags are perfect for keeping it clean, dry, and in top condition.
IS IT OK TO COMBINE CORK INFILL WITH OTHER TYPES OF FILL?
It’s not recommended to mix cork with other substances. On its own, cork performs exceptionally well – mixing it might reduce its overall benefits and performance.
DOES CORK INFILL CATCH FIRE EASILY?
No – cork burns slower compared to materials like rubber. What’s more, in case of fire, it doesn’t release harmful fumes, which makes it a much safer option.
HOW OFTEN DOES CORK INFILL NEED REPLACING?
Cork infill rarely needs a full replacement. Just check it now and then and top it up if required. Usually, a full refill is only needed every 5 to 10 years.
IS YOUR CORK GRANULATE CERTIFIED?
Yes, it’s certified by the Polish National Institute of Public Health (PZH). It’s completely safe for skin – it doesn’t cause allergies, irritation, or side effects. At present, we’re the only company in Poland providing PZH-certified cork granulate.
IS YOUR CORK INFILL SUSTAINABLE AND EU-COMPLIANT?
Yes, cork is entirely natural and free from microplastics. It meets all current EU guidelines, which prohibit microplastics in sports surfaces.

No – with proper groundwork, including a sand stabilising layer, plus cork’s natural grip on grass fibres, the granulate stays firmly in place.

Cork infill used in artificial turf has enough weight (with a density between 180–200 kg/m³) to stay put – it won’t get blown around by wind or shift out of place. It tucks neatly between the synthetic grass fibres, keeping the surface tidy and consistent.
With a fine grain size of 1–2 mm, cork granules spread evenly through the turf and don’t form clumps, making them ideal for filling artificial grass fields.
