But actually finding something that really works… well, that’s another story. Cheap foams simply don’t do the job (and if they seem to, it won’t last long). WHAT ARE BITCORK SOUND DAMPENING BOARDS?

They are panels designed specifically for acoustic insulation. Each one is made up of three layers: a central butyl core, enclosed on both sides with natural cork. Together, they form an effective soundproof barrier.

WHY BUTYL ON THE INSIDE AND CORK ON THE OUTSIDE?

It’s no coincidence. The butyl core is a heavier, flexible, and dense material. Its main role is to block sound – especially low, bass tones. Meanwhile, the irregular natural structure of cork, full of micropores, scatters and absorbs sound waves (particularly higher frequencies). And because the cork is on the outside, it can perform its function without the need to cover it with plaster, paint, or boards.

WHERE ARE BITCORK ACOUSTIC CORK PANELS USED?

They are suitable for both domestic and industrial applications. For home use, the ideal thicknesses are 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm. For industrial purposes, we recommend the 9, 11, 13 and 15 mm variants.

WHICH ADHESIVE SHOULD I USE TO INSTALL ACOUSTIC PANELS FOR HOME?

A contact adhesive works best – we recommend Wakol D-3540, which easily handles the weight of the panels. Before starting the installation, make sure the surface you’re bonding to is clean, dry, and even.
