Ever found yourself trimming materials over and over just to get a “close enough” fit? Probably more than you’d like to admit. And yet the end result still isn’t right. Rigid boards don’t fill awkward shapes or work well with plaster. That’s where ground cork shines: it moulds itself to the space. Just pour it in—no shaping, no fuss. Lightweight, eco-friendly, and easy to handle in its granulated state.

HOW DOES GROUND CORK LOOK?

It’s crushed cork, you’ll notice a warm, earthy tone with a porous feel. It’s durable and easily adaptable. This loose form of cork lets you do things traditional boards can’t—you can fill gaps, pour it, or shape it without effort.

WHERE DO PEOPLE USE THIS TYPE OF NATURAL CORK?

It’s used in loads of areas, including:

  • Construction: mixed into lightweight building mixes, plasters, or adhesives.
  • Insulating cavities: for improved thermal and sound performance.
  • Core materials: useful in vehicles.
  • Furniture: used inside pouffes and cushions.
  • Shoe components: works well in soles and insoles.
  • Recreational gear: punching bags, balls, and safe playground surfacing.
  • Soil enhancement: boosts aeration and texture in gardening.
  • Arts and crafts: looks like gravel or pebbles for miniature sets or displays.
  • Terrarium setups: a clean and natural base material.
  • Absorbent use: helps soak up oils.

IS IT CERTIFIED FOR SAFETY?

Yes, it is. The material has a certificate from Poland’s National Institute of Public Health (PZH). It’s safe on skin and doesn’t cause allergic reactions. We’re currently the only Polish provider selling ground cork with such clearance.

WHAT'S THE AVERAGE DENSITY OF NATURAL CORK?

It depends on grain size, here are the general figures:

  • 0.5 – 1.0 mm: 140–150 kg/m³.
  • 1 – 2 mm: 100–110 kg/m³.
  • 2 – 3 mm: 120–130 kg/m³.
  • 3 – 4 mm: 110–120 kg/m³.
  • 4 – 5 mm: 120–130 kg/m³.

IS NATURAL CORK A GREEN CHOICE?

Definitely. It’s harvested without harming cork trees. Over time, the bark regrows, making it renewable. Plus, cork breaks down naturally and doesn’t leave behind plastic or toxins. It’s nature-friendly from start to finish.

WHAT’S THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS LIKE?

It starts with cork oak bark. Harvested responsibly every 9–12 years, the bark is dried, cleaned, and then crushed into bits. The process results in cork granules of various sizes depending on the purpose.

DOES GRINDING AFFECT THE QUALITY OF NATURAL CORK?

No, the granules keep their natural insulating traits—resisting heat, moisture, and noise.

What you get is more versatility—you can pour it, mould it, or squeeze it into tight spots where flat cork wouldn’t work. Loose cork just gives you more freedom.

CAN NATURAL CORK REALLY INSULATE?

Absolutely. Natural cork insulates by design, thanks to its air-filled structure. It’s great for keeping heat in and sound out.

No need for added chemicals or complex processing. Cork stays light, breathable, and durable — while also being healthy and eco-conscious.

DO YOU SELL OTHER TYPES OF GROUND CORK TOO?

Sure do! You can also pick up:

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO STORE LEFTOVER NATURAL CORK?

Pop it somewhere cool and dry, like a pantry or garage. Avoid places with heat, direct sunlight, or high humidity. A sealed container is best to keep it in top shape.

WILL THIS WORK FOR GARDEN WALKWAYS?

Yes! It’s comfy underfoot, doesn’t get too hot, and handles rain without turning into mud. It’s a great alternative to gravel or pavement.

Most materials tend to be clunky and impractical or far too delicate to last. Ground cork is a natural choice: light, durable, and adaptable. It shines where others struggle—whether it's tight spaces or odd shapes, it delivers precision and versatility where it matters most.

Black text WHY is it worth it?» with cork on the right on a white background.

#1 ONE PRODUCT, COUNTLESS ROLES

With standard insulation like mineral wool, polystyrene, or PU foam, the design must often be tailored around the product. You end up trimming, reshaping, and sometimes revisiting the entire technical concept. Honestly—it’s a massive time sink.

Cork granules flip that logic—they conform to the space, not the other way around. That’s exactly why they’re a favourite across industrial and construction settings. You’ll find them in thermal mixes, light concrete, and adhesives. They also act as excellent cavity wall insulation, significantly improving thermal performance.

#2 LIGHTWEIGHT INSULATION THAT WORKS HARD

Cork granules offer thermal and sound insulation. Their structure is packed with tiny air-filled pockets that naturally block temperature shifts and dampen noise. In contrast to heavier insulating fillers, cork is low-weight—so it won’t burden the structure it supports.

Adding cork to plasters or concrete isn’t just about going green—it actually makes them perform better. These materials trap heat more efficiently, reduce sound transmission, and remain light.

#3 OFFICIAL SAFETY YOU CAN TRUST

Lots of materials are sold as “safe”—until it’s time to back that up. Our ground cork carries a valid hygienic certification from the Polish National Institute of Public Health (PZH). It’s entirely safe to touch—causes no allergic reactions, irritation, or side effects.

That’s especially important in places where safety has to come first—like children’s play areas or gyms. Ground cork is a great shock-absorbing base for playgrounds and sports zones. It cushions falls, reduces skin abrasions, and thanks to its natural bounce, helps prevent injury. It’s not just safe on paper—but in real-world use, too.

#4 PURELY NATURAL – NOTHING ADDED

Ground cork is crafted from raw, natural cork—there are no chemical additives, fillers, or dyes involved. It hails from Portugal, a country proud of its cork tradition and committed to preserving its harvesting methods. Cork oak trees have grown there for generations.

This isn’t a token eco label—it’s authentically natural. Cork is gathered by gently peeling bark from the tree—no felling required. The tree remains standing, regenerating on its own. In a world full of intensive farming, cork stands apart—growing slowly and sustainably.

#5 DURABLE AND RELIABLE

Ground cork does more than insulate. They also don’t support mould growth or attract insects. Natural cork isn’t appealing to pests like ants or termites, which often attack more traditional materials from the inside out.

Besides blocking noise and heat, cork is naturally non-conductive. That makes it an excellent material to use near electrics, where reducing short circuit risk is key. And unlike many other organic materials, cork has remarkable chemical stability.
