The photos and renders were taken in a studio setting, so the actual tone of the cork may differ slightly depending on your lighting at home or how your screen displays colours.

Sure, flashy 3D wall panels can be show-stoppers in magazines or on social media, but let’s face it – they can feel a bit too much when you’re around them all the time. Intense designs and loud shades often become tiring fast. 3D Cork Panles go in a more calming direction. With their gentle, harmonious texture, they add dimension without being in-your-face. Even Vogue gave them a nod (but we’ll get to that soon).

IN WHAT FORMAT ARE THE 3D CORK PANELS AVAILABLE?

Each set contains 1.98 m² worth of panels (11 individual tiles). Every tile has dimensions of 300 × 600 mm, which covers 0.18 m².

WHAT SHOULD I BE AWARE OF BEFORE MOUNTING CORK BOARD TILES?

  1. Make sure to carry and store the panels in a flat position.
  2. Let them rest in the room they’ll be fixed in for 72 hours beforehand. This gives the cork time to settle into the room’s conditions.

This step helps prevent the panels from warping, slipping, or fitting awkwardly once in place.

WHAT’S THE PROCESS FOR FITTING DECORATIVE CORK WALL TILES?

  1. Use a good-quality adhesive – we personally recommend Wakol D-3540 (it’s the one we always trust and use).
  2. Typically, you’ll need around 150–250 g/m². For example, a 0.8 kg tub should be enough for 4 m² (roughly 22 Tatami tiles), while 2.5 kg covers about 12.5 m² (around 68 tiles).
  3. Apply the adhesive evenly using a short-pile velour roller on both the panel back and the wall.
  4. Let the glue turn clear on both surfaces – that’s the cue to start sticking the panels on.
  5. Be patient – the glue needs about 24 hours to cure completely.

HOW DO I GET THE WALL READY FOR 3D CORK PANELS?

  1. Clean thoroughly: Remove all dust, grease, and any dirt from the surface. A clean wall is key to a strong bond.
  2. Even things out: If your wall has deep bumps or dips, smooth them with filler or skim coat before proceeding.
  3. Apply primer: When working with porous surfaces like bare concrete, it’s a good idea to prime it before gluing.

CAN YOU PUT CORK ONTO A NON-FLAT WALL?

It’s not a good idea. Tatami 3D panels need the surface to be level, smooth, dry, and free of any dust. They won’t stick properly to walls that are rough, dirty, or uneven.

WILL THE SEAMS BETWEEN PANELS BE OBVIOUS?

Some seams might be slightly noticeable, since cork naturally expands and contracts depending on humidity and temperature. This is perfectly normal and gives cork its unique feel. But if you let the panels sit in the room for around 72 hours before fitting, it’ll greatly reduce the chance of bigger gaps. That way, the cork adjusts to the room’s conditions and fits more snugly to the wall – making the joins less obvious.

ARE DECORATIVE CORK WALL TILES SUITABLE FOR OUTDOORS?

We wouldn’t suggest it – rain, shifting temperatures, and general outdoor conditions can wear down the panels and affect their looks over time.

CAN YOU CUT DECORATIVE CORK TO FIT?

Yes, definitely. A fine-tooth saw – especially a Japanese pull saw – works really well. It gives a tidy cut and helps avoid the edges from fraying.

HOW DO YOU LOOK AFTER CORK PANELS?

A slightly damp cloth or gentle dusting brush should be enough for everyday cleaning. For more persistent marks, use a soft, pH-neutral cleaner.

IMPORTANT: Stay away from strong chemicals like bleach, acetone or chlorine-based cleaners. These can fade the cork or damage its surface, making it more vulnerable to moisture and mould.

Some panels don’t need bold graphics or loud colours to stand out – they simply blend in. That’s exactly the charm of Tatami 3D Cork – it brings texture, flow, and subtle depth without drawing too much attention to itself.

#1 PANELS SEEN BY VOGUE

Tatami cork wall panels come with a light 3D texture that adds character to a room without making it feel crowded. There are three shades to pick from: Natural – the timeless cork look, Light – which brightens things up, and Midnight – the most dramatic option. The shorter sides of each panel have a soft bevel, giving the entire setup a more cohesive and elegant look.

These panels made an appearance in a unique rotating home in Mazovia, Poland – a home that caught the attention of Vogue. It wasn’t just about looking cool – the house was built to reflect today’s needs, blending tech, sustainability, and great aesthetics. Cork fits right in – it’s stylish, long-lasting, eco-friendly, and practical. If Tatami’s good enough for a home featured by Vogue, it’s clearly more than just trendy – it’s clever design with purpose.

#2 STYLISH & HEALTH-CONSCIOUS WALL OPTION

Cork makes sense – it’s all-natural, doesn’t gather dust, stays dry, and doesn’t allow mould or mildew to thrive.

Tatami cork panels are safe for little ones and ideal for people with allergies – no nasty chemicals or fumes. It’s not a trade-off between “nice-looking” or “safe to live with” – you get both. The wall looks stunning, and you know the materials around you are healthy and dependable.

#3 COMFY IN EVERY SEASON

Cork brings something different to the table that wood and ceramic can’t – it’s a natural thermal buffer. It keeps rooms warmer when it’s chilly and cooler when the heat kicks in. Plus, it helps absorb noise, making your space feel calmer.

Cork wins over ceramic and wood in more ways than one. It doesn’t feel cold or look stiff. Ceramic, for example, can give off a bathroom vibe even when it’s in your lounge. Wood looks great, but demands daily upkeep. Cork, on the other hand, just needs a quick clean from time to time – no polishing, no scrubbing, no stress. Super easy to look after.

#4 PLANET-FRIENDLY FROM THE ROOTS UP

Looks and function are important – but there’s more to it. Cork isn’t just natural – it’s actively good for the environment. It comes from the bark of cork oak trees, which grow back naturally every 9–12 years – no tree cutting involved. And cork forests help reduce carbon in the air by soaking up CO₂.

So when you cover your walls with cork, you’re not just making a stylish choice – you’re doing something positive for the planet. It’s not a sales pitch – it’s real impact. One tree can be harvested many times with no harm done. Meaning, you can enjoy beautiful interiors without sacrificing your values or peace of mind.
