- Clean the wall thoroughly. Don’t try to glue over dust, grease, flaking paint or leftover wallpaper. A spotless surface is essential for proper bonding.
- Plan your layout in advance. Decide where every tile will go before you start gluing. Once your layout is set, then begin with the adhesive.
WHAT SHOULD I USE FOR INSTALLING THESE 3D ACOUSTIC WALL TILES?
We suggest using Wakol D-3540 adhesive. A 0.8 kg tub should be enough for around 69 panels, while the 2.5 kg size will cover approximately 240. Apply adhesive both to the wall and the back of the tile using a short-pile velour roller. Spread evenly and avoid lumps. When both surfaces become transparent, that’s your cue – press the panel on.
DO I NEED TO LEAVE PANELS TO ACCLIMATISE BEFORE FITTING?
Yes, absolutely – let them rest in the room for at least 72 hours. This lets the material adjust to humidity and temperature, preventing any future detachment.
CAN I ATTACH 3D CORK FOR WALL COVERING TO A NON-FLAT WALL?
Ideally, your wall should be even, flat and clean. If it’s textured or bumpy, the cork may not stick properly and might peel off over time.
WILL I NOTICE THE JOINTS BETWEEN TILES?
You might see some slight seams, but thanks to the pattern, they don’t usually stand out. To keep them minimal, let the panels rest for 72 hours before you install – this helps them adjust and prevents unwanted gaps later.
