WHAT ITEMS DO YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE PANELS?
- A short-pile velour roller — ideal for spreading the glue evenly.
- A spirit level — to keep your lines straight and tidy.
- A tape measure and pencil — for accurate measurements and markings.
- A utility knife or sharp craft knife — for trimming panels when necessary.
- A clean cloth or sponge — useful for wiping away extra adhesive.
- Work gloves (optional).
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO INSTALL 3D WALL PANELS FOR LIVING ROOM?
- Before applying any glue, make sure your wall is clean, flat, dry and smooth. A well-prepared surface — without dust, marks or old paint — helps the panels bond properly.
- Select a good adhesive — we recommend Wakol D-3540, a product we've used repeatedly. A small tub (0.8 kg) covers about 170 tiles, and a bigger one (2.5 kg) can handle roughly 600 pieces.
- Apply the adhesive to both the wall and the backs of the panels. A short-pile velour roller works great for a smooth, lump-free coat. Make sure to cover the entire area and wait until the adhesive turns clear.
- Firmly push the panels onto the wall and check they’re secure. Leave them to set for 24 hours so the glue can fully harden.
CAN YOU ATTACH 3D DECORATIVE CORK TO UNEVEN SURFACES?
It's generally not advised. These panels grip best to flat, clean and even walls. If the surface is bumpy or uneven, the panels can stick out oddly, and the seams may be more noticeable.
CAN YOU INSTALL PANELS DIRECTLY ON OLD WALLPAPER?
No, because the wallpaper can peel off together with your new panels. Plus, there might be hidden bumps or dust behind it that can stop the adhesive from working properly. It’s always wiser to fully remove the wallpaper, give the wall a good clean, and get it nicely prepped before putting up the panels.
HOW MUCH AREA DOES ONE PANEL COVER?
Each panel covers roughly 0.02 m². This means that if you plan to cover 1 m² of wall surface, you’ll need about 50 panels.

They’re usually barely visible. To keep them as hidden as possible, let the panels rest in the room for at least 72 hours before installing. This helps the cork get used to the room’s conditions, which prevents bigger gaps from showing up later on.
