You're after proper cork chunks, but everywhere you look it's the same old story: compressed leftovers that crumble in your hands or synthetic substitutes that don’t quite cut it. In chain stores, everything looks the same – bland, mass-produced, and not exactly trustworthy. Cork pieces are a whole different story. These aren’t uniform, factory-cut pieces; they’re irregular fragments of real cork – each one unique in texture, but all equally natural, versatile and top quality.

You’ve probably got a few questions – here are the answers!
WHAT ARE CORK PIECES?
They’re loose, irregular pieces of natural cork – no two are the same, and that’s exactly what makes them so charming. Each piece is usually a few centimetres in size, lightweight, and slightly rough to the touch – but pleasantly so. These cork pieces are the largest grade available among cork granules.
WHAT IS THIS TYPE OF GRANULATED CORK USED FOR?
There are countless ways to use them – both practical and creative.
- In construction – as a natural thermal and acoustic insulator, especially in lightweight structures.
- In the light industry – as an eco-friendly technical material that’s easy to shape and process.
- In furniture-making – as a lightweight, natural filler and component for sustainable furniture.
- In flooring production – especially for anti-slip and wear-resistant surfaces.
- In model-making and set design – mimicking rocks, rubble, or terrain; perfect for dioramas, layouts, and stage props.
- In terrariums – as a safe, moisture- and mould-resistant decoration for animals.
- For hobbyists and artists – ideal for DIY, crafts, and decorative projects.
- For art classes – kids love it!
- In interior design – as a decorative filler for bowls, vases, or even aquariums.
WHAT IS THE DENSITY OF THESE CORK PIECES FOR CRAFTS?
For the 10–20 mm grade, the density is approximately 135–145 kg/m³, while for the larger 10–50 mm grade, it's around 130–140 kg/m³.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CORK PIECES AND OTHER CORK GRANULES?
The main difference lies in the size and appearance – cork pieces are larger, while granulated cork is much finer. The smallest grades (known as cork dust) resemble sand or flour in texture.
WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF NATURAL CORK?
It’s lightweight, flexible, and durable. It doesn’t absorb moisture and doesn’t attract dust – thanks to its antistatic nature. On top of that, it’s a non-toxic and safe material, even for children and pets. Most importantly, cork is 100% natural.
IS NATURAL CORK REALLY ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?
Absolutely. It grows naturally, is renewable, and fully biodegradable. There’s no synthetic substitute that matches its structure, lightness, and unique properties.
Interestingly, cork oak trees absorb vast amounts of CO₂ – more than most deciduous trees. In fact, the more often the bark is harvested, the more effectively the tree captures carbon.
DOES GRANULATED CORK COME WITH A CERTIFICATE?
Yes – our cork granules hold an official hygiene certificate issued by the National Institute of Public Health in Poland (PZH), confirming they are completely safe for skin contact. They don’t cause allergies, irritation, or any side effects.
At present, we are the only company in Poland offering cork granules with this certification.
ARE CORK PIECES MOISTURE-RESISTANT?
Yes, cork is naturally hydrophobic – it doesn’t absorb water. Its cells contain suberin, a substance that acts as a natural protective barrier.
CAN CORK PIECES FOR CRAFTS BE PAINTED AND CUT?
Yes – paints for cork work best, but acrylic and water-based paints also do the job nicely. Avoid solvent-based paints and glues, as they can damage the cork’s structure.
As for cutting, a sharp cork knife is all you need.
HOW IS GRANULATED CORK PRODUCED?
It’s made through a mechanical grinding process, ensuring that no material goes to waste. The result is a high-quality product – lightweight, practical, and still 100% natural.
HOW BIG ARE THE CORK CHUNKS?
They’re usually a few centimetres each, but every piece is unique – and that’s the whole point. Cork pieces are an irregular grade – nature in its purest form.
Cork doesn’t look like something out of a catalogue – and that’s a good thing. Cork pieces are just as nature made them: porous, irregular, and full of character. They didn’t come off a production line – and not a single tree had to be cut down to create them.

#1 REAL CORK – NOT THE IMITATION
Cork pieces weren’t made on a production line – no two of them are the same. One is more porous, another more compact, and yet another completely irregular. And that’s exactly what makes them so unique. Each granule is of high quality, durable, and retains its colour.
Natural cork from a chain store is often hard, dense, and artificially compressed – but real cork pieces are something else entirely. When you hold them in your hand, you can feel the irregularity, the lightness, the softness. It’s a completely different level of quality.
#2 NATURALLY LIGHTWEIGHT CORK CHUNKS
If you're working on a lightweight structure – like a hanging decoration, a model, stage scenery or a DIY installation – you’ll know how much of a hindrance weight can be. Cork pieces are ultra-light. In lightweight construction, cork works brilliantly as a natural insulator – both thermal and acoustic.
Cork is used as a lightweight, eco-friendly technical material – it’s easy to work with, durable, and doesn’t add unnecessary weight. It’s an exceptionally user-friendly material – it doesn’t require heavy machinery or advanced technical facilities. Its lightness goes hand in hand with ease of handling.
#3 DURABLE, VERSATILE AND SAFE
Cork doesn’t react with most chemicals, which makes it an excellent choice for demanding conditions. Where other materials quickly lose their finish, come apart or become misshapen, cork retains both its appearance and properties. Its natural durability makes it not only a practical option, but a safe one too.
Cork is also a “gentle” material – its surface doesn’t scratch or damage other materials. This quality is one of the reasons natural cork is increasingly being used in projects that demand not only visual appeal, but also careful interaction with other surfaces.
Adaptability and compressibility are further advantages that make natural cork suitable for a wide range of technical applications. This material easily adapts to shape, which is why it’s used in everything from shock-absorbing mats and flooring panels to insulation components and sports accessories.
#4 FACTORY SYNTHETICS VS REAL TREE-GROWN CORK
Synthetic granules are the result of melting down plastics – rubber, polymers, various artificial materials. Even if they look appealing, you're still dealing with processed industrial waste. Cork grows naturally on the cork oak tree – no machinery, no emissions, no lab required. It’s like comparing a plastic plant to a living one on the windowsill – we all know which one wins.
Synthetic granules wear down, crumble, and leave traces – sometimes invisible to the naked eye, but still there. And those micro-particles eventually find their way into the environment, into water, into soil. Cork leaves nothing harmful behind. Even if it breaks down, it decomposes naturally – like a leaf or a twig. No harm to you or the planet.
