WHAT IS THE MARINE VARNISH USED FOR?
This is a yacht varnish designed to protect surfaces on boat and yacht decks. It provides long-lasting protection and helps keep the surface in excellent condition.
WHAT SURFACES IS THE CLEAR YACHT VARNISH SUITABLE FOR?
Sea Line varnish is ideal for cork and wooden surfaces. It can be used both indoors and outdoors – but only above the waterline.
WHAT IS THE VARNISH’S VOLUME?
The varnish comes in a 750 ml container.
DOES THIS BOAT VARNISH CHANGE THE COLOUR OF THE DECK?
No, it’s clear and simply enhances the natural appearance of the material. Its sheen can visually deepen the colour and highlight the texture – often referred to as the “wet wood” effect.
HOW MUCH CORK VARNISH DO I NEED?
Consumption is approximately 80–100 ml per 1 m². It’s recommended to apply at least two coats.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE THE SURFACE BEFORE APPLYING THE VARNISH?
Before you start varnishing:
- Remove dust, dirt, and salt using clean water.
- Degrease the surface (ideally with Sea-Line Cleaner).
- Make sure the surface is completely dry.
The varnish is single-component, meaning no hardener is needed – it dries on its own after application.
HOW DO I APPLY THE YACHT VARNISH GLOSS?
You can apply the varnish using a brush or roller – these are the simplest and most commonly used methods. If you have a spray gun and some experience, that’s also a great option.
HOW LONG DOES BOAT VARNISH TAKE TO DRY?
Under standard conditions – that is, at around 20°C – the varnish dries in stages. After 3 hours, it is touch-dry, and after roughly 16 hours, it becomes rain-resistant. Full water resistance is achieved after 24 hours.
Tip: If you’re planning to apply another coat, it’s best to wait at least 16 hours.
