Cork-foam pad spacers on roll LISEC

During transport, glass is particularly vulnerable to scratches and cracks — and any damage to the shipment brings additional complications. We’re talking about complaints, the need to replace materials, wasted time, and, above all, extra costs. LISEC Cork Foam Glass Separator Pads provide effective protection, ensuring that shipments arrive in perfect condition. It’s the combination of cork and foam that creates a protective barrier, minimising the risk of glass damage.

WHAT ARE LISEC SPACERS USED FOR?

They are used to protect glass from scratches, cracks, and damage. The spacers allow glass panes to be stacked without direct contact, ensuring enhanced protection. The foam adheres to the surface without the need for any adhesive.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TYPES OF PROTECTIVE PADS FOR GLASS?

The main difference lies in the thickness of the foam used. There are three versions available: 1 mm, 1.5 mm, and 2 mm. The standard cork layer is 3 mm thick – this applies to all standard options. However, upon special request, we can produce spacers with cork of a different thickness, tailored to individual requirements (simply contact us by email).

Additionally, the spacers come in various lengths and weights, making it easy to match them to specific needs.

HOW ARE LISEC GLASS SEPARATOR PADS APPLIED?

The spacers are applied using LISEC machines. The device feeds a continuous strip of cork and foam, cuts it to the required length, and applies it directly onto the glass. The system automatically adjusts the material to the size of each panel.

The combination of cork and foam provides the stability needed when handling such a delicate material as glass. The foam clings gently to the glass, while the cork evenly distributes pressure, preventing the panes from sliding or knocking against each other during transport.

Without proper protection, even minor vibrations or jolts can cause cracks, scratches, or chipped edges. Just one sharp turn, an uneven road surface, or panes packed too tightly can lead to damage. That’s why proper protection is the foundation of safe transport.

Well-chosen spacers also make work organisation more efficient. The packing process becomes quick and simple – just apply the spacer using the dedicated LISEC machine, and it’s done. There’s no need for additional tapes, films, or pads. As a result, the work is more efficient, and the outcome is consistent and reliable.

Using spacers also means genuine cost savings. Every avoided complaint, replacement, or repair reduces expenses – and over the course of a year, the difference becomes truly noticeable.
