If you want a functional board, we suggest going for 5 to 10 mm thick rolls like these. The thickness of 1.5 mm is not suitable for creating cork boards - it is too thin.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO CUT CORK ACCURATELY?

IS IT OK TO PAINT NATURAL CORK?

Yes, if you want the cork to match your room, you can paint it. We recommend using our cork paints.

WHY SHOULD CORK BE LEFT TO ACCLIMATISE FIRST?

Letting cork adjust to room conditions for 72 hours before installing helps prevent warping or peeling later. It settles into its new environment, making installation more reliable.

WHAT'S THE RIGHT WAY TO INSTALL CORK ON WALLS?

We suggest using a dedicated adhesive like Wakol D-3540.

Here's how to do it:

Prep the wall: It should be clean, dry, dust-free, and smooth.
Spread adhesive: Apply Wakol D-3540 both on the cork and the wall with a roller or brush. Typical glue consumption is 150–250 g/m². That means 0.8 kg covers 4 m², and 2.5 kg covers around 12.5 m².
Wait a bit: Let the glue dry until it becomes clear before mounting the cork.
Attach the cork: Press it onto the wall carefully. Plan your layout in advance. The adhesive will fully cure in 24 hours.

CAN I USE 1.5MM CORK ON UNEVEN WALLS?

We don’t recommend it. Make sure your wall is flat and even for best results. Cork doesn’t sit well on bumpy surfaces.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN CORK?

Cork is low-maintenance – a dry or damp cloth is enough. A gentle cleaning broom will also do the trick. Thanks to its anti-static nature, it won’t attract much dust either.

HOW DO I SEAL AND PROTECT MY CORK WALL?

To protect your cork, you can use wood-friendly products like wax, oil, stain, or varnish. For wall use, try our cork care wax.
