HOW CAN I USE CORK IN A ROLL 7MM?

IS ROLLED CORK MATERIAL A SOLID CHOICE FOR A NOTICE BOARD?

Definitely — if you want to create your own pinboard, rolled cork is a great fit. Thickness around 5–10 mm is ideal — firm enough to hold pins properly. For extra strength, we recommend adding a support layer such as MDF or a corkboard base.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO LET NATURAL CORK SETTLE BEFORE YOU FIT IT?

Cork is a natural product, so it adjusts to the room conditions around it. For that reason, it’s best to leave it for roughly 72 hours before installation. If you rush this part, you could run into problems later on, like edges lifting or peeling. The size or type of natural cork does not matter here - each one needs acclimatization.

HOW SHOULD I INSTALL CORK IN A ROLL ON A WALL PROPERLY?

The easiest and most reliable method is using a contact adhesive such as Wakol D-3540.

Quick step-by-step guide:

Make sure the wall is dry, smooth, and dust-free — good prep really pays off.
Spread adhesive on both the wall and the back of the cork. Wait until it turns transparent.
Place the cork onto the wall and press it down evenly all over.
Leave it to cure completely — Wakol typically bonds within about 24 hours.

Expect to use around 150–250 g/m². So 0.8 kg is usually enough for about 4 m², while a 2.5 kg package will cover roughly 12.5 m².

IS IT OKAY TO PUT 7MM CORK IN A ROLL ON A TEXTURED WALL?

We wouldn’t recommend it. You’ll get the nicest finish and strongest hold on a surface that’s smooth, clean, and fully dry.

WHAT’S THE SIMPLEST WAY TO KEEP CORK CLEAN?

It couldn’t be easier — cork is naturally antistatic, so it doesn’t grab dust the way other surfaces do. Just wipe it now and then with a soft, slightly damp cloth or give it a light dusting.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CUT 7MM ROLLED CORK MATERIAL CLEANLY?

Go with a sharp utility knife. Just be sure you’re cutting on a flat, steady surface so the edges come out nice and tidy.
