WHAT MATERIALS IS DRAGON ADHESIVE SUITABLE FOR?
Dragon is designed for cork and wood. It also works well with stone, chipboard, fibreboard, composite boards, and mineral-based surfaces such as concrete, cement-lime plaster, or plasterboard. It can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Important to remember:
- At least one of the bonded surfaces should be porous.
- Always test the material’s resistance to the adhesive before use.
- Dragon adhesive is not suitable for polystyrene, soft or foamed PVC, or plastics such as PP, PE, and PTFE.
DO I NEED TO DILUTE THIS GLUE FOR CORK?
No – it’s ready to use straight from the tub. There’s no need to mix or dilute it, as it already has the consistency of a thick paste.
WHAT COLOUR IS THE DRAGON GLUE FOR CORK?
Dragon has a light brown colour. Once cured, the joint keeps the same shade and blends well with both wood and cork.
WHAT IS THE ADHESIVE’S OPEN TIME?
The open time is 20 minutes, which means you can still adjust and press the bonded elements within this period.
Initial bonding occurs after around 6 hours – at this stage the adhesive already holds, but it hasn’t reached its full strength yet. Complete curing takes place after 24 hours.
WHAT IS THE COVERAGE OF DRAGON ADHESIVE?
Coverage ranges from 0.9 to 2.2 m² per litre. In practice, this will depend on the absorbency of the surface and the thickness of the layer applied.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE THE SURFACE BEFORE APPLYING THE ADHESIVE?
The surface should be properly prepared and levelled as much as possible. Clean it thoroughly, removing dust, grease, dirt, and any old paint or varnish, then degrease it. The surface must also be dry when applying the adhesive.
HOW TO APPLY DRAGON ADHESIVE?
The adhesive is applied directly from the cartridge using the supplied applicator.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Cut off the tip of the cartridge and fit the applicator.
- Apply the adhesive either in spots or in strips.
- Add extra drops at the corners and ends of the elements to strengthen the bond.
- Press the elements together briefly, then pull them apart and wait about 10 minutes to allow the adhesive to air off slightly.
- Press the elements together again (a rubber mallet can help here).
- If the item is heavy or under stress, secure it until the bond is fully set.
The joint reaches full strength after 24 hours. During and after application, ventilate the room until any odour has dissipated.
HOW SHOULD DRAGON ADHESIVE BE STORED?
Store the adhesive in its original, tightly sealed packaging at a temperature between 0°C and +30°C. If frozen, the adhesive permanently loses its properties and becomes unusable. When stored correctly, it retains its performance for up to two years from the production date.
The worst thing is when you stick something down and a week later it all starts peeling off… All that work wasted, the material damaged, and you’re forced to start over. It’s not just a loss of time, but also money – and plenty of frustration. We’ve been through it ourselves, testing different adhesives: some held for a moment, others left marks, and some simply couldn’t cope with cork or wood at all. Then we tried Dragon Glue for Cork – and that’s where the story changed completely.

#1 PRACTICAL CORK ADHESIVE
The biggest advantage of Dragon adhesive is how much easier it makes working with cork and wood. It’s waterproof, flexible, yet holds firmly. The joint doesn’t turn into a hard, brittle crust – instead, it moves with the material. This means no cracks or chips, which are a common problem with many other adhesives.
Appearance also matters. Dragon has a light brown shade that blends seamlessly with cork and wood once dry. The bond leaves no marks or discolouration, ensuring a clean, consistent, and attractive finish.
#2 COST-EFFECTIVE YET RELIABLE
Cork is a lightweight, porous, and fairly absorbent material. Not every adhesive can handle it – some soak in too much, while others simply crack. Dragon adhesive is both practical and economical.
There’s no need to reach for expensive specialist products that often promise more than they deliver. Dragon works perfectly when bonding cork to the most common surfaces – concrete, plaster, wood – and does the job solidly, without the extra cost.
#3 VERSATILE APPLICATIONS
Dragon is ideal for fixing wooden trims – whether skirting boards or finishing strips – as well as window sills, thresholds, and a variety of decorative elements made from cork, wood, or stone. This allows you to finish interiors neatly and securely without the need for nails or screws.
You’re not limited to just one type of surface, either. It bonds well with concrete, cement-lime plaster, gypsum, plasterboard, and also with wood-based boards such as chipboard, fibreboard, and composites. Just remember: at least one of the bonded surfaces should be porous.
