WHO IS THE CORK FILLER PASTE FOR?

This is a filler designed for footwear and for creating embossing in leather materials. It’s an excellent choice for everyone who:

  • works in the footwear industry – in production, repair or shoe restoration,
  • creates embossed patterns and 3D leather carving,
  • is involved in leathercraft, whether as a hobby or professionally.

This product is for you if:

  • you emboss leather and get frustrated when the pattern “sinks” over time,
  • you fill shoes and want consistent, repeatable results,
  • you have no margin for error, because one mistake means hours of work lost,
  • you don’t want to experiment and are looking for proven material.

When is this filler not the right choice?

  • if you need a flexible filler that moves with soft leather,
  • if you require very fast curing (without waiting until the next day).

WHAT IS THE CORK FILLER PASTE MADE OF?

The formula is based on cork granules with a uniform grain size, combined with a solvent-based binder.

HOW TO USE THE CORK FILLER FOR SHOES AND LEATHER EMBOSSING?

Before starting, read the warnings and instructions provided on the product label.

  • Preparing the mass: Stir the filler thoroughly before use.
  • As a cork filler for footwear: Apply an appropriate amount of the mass to the area that requires filling or shaping. Smooth the surface or form it according to the footwear’s construction requirements. Leave to dry for at least overnight, or approximately 24 hours.
  • 3D leather embossing and shaping: Apply a suitable amount of the filler to the reverse side of the leather. Gently press the mass so that it fully fills the spaces beneath the embossed areas and adheres well to the surface. Smooth the layer to achieve the desired shape.

HOW LONG DOES THE FILLER TAKE TO DRY?

Drying times are as follows:

  • layers thinner than 1 cm: 1–2 hours,
  • layers thicker than 1 cm: approximately 24 hours,
  • layers over 2 cm: up to 48 hours.

Once fully dry, the filler layer can be sanded (no earlier than after 24 hours), allowing the shape to be refined with precision.

HOW SHOULD THE CORK FILLER PASTE BE STORED?

Store the filler in a sealed container, in a dry place with no temperature fluctuations. From time to time, it’s a good idea to turn the tin over and store it upside down. This helps prevent the binder from settling in one place and makes the filler easier to prepare for reuse.

WHY IS NATURAL CORK USED IN FOOTWEAR AND LEATHER EMBOSSING?

As a filler, cork supports embossed areas without adding unnecessary weight to footwear or leather goods. In footwear, cork is especially valued where comfort, long-lasting shape and cushioning matter, while in 3D leather embossing it helps preserve the clear depth and definition of the pattern.

Mixing your own compounds for embossing and filling is a gamble. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. You lose time, waste material, and never know whether the filler will behave the same way once it dries. Our cork mass, on the other hand, is ready to use and lets you focus on getting the job done – not on fighting the material. If you’re looking for something even better than Renia Cork Filler, you’ve just found it.

#1 SHAPE AND FUNCTION

Cork mass is used to fill the lower part of the shoe — between the insole and the sole — wherever stability, lightness and long-lasting shape are essential. It works equally well in classic footwear as well as in custom projects, including orthopaedic shoes.

The filler is lightweight. It adds no unnecessary weight to the finished footwear while maintaining excellent shape retention. This allows you to design high-quality shoes without compromising on comfort.

It is also a practical material for creating 3D embossed patterns in leather. Easy to apply, it provides solid support and allows the leather to achieve a clear, three-dimensional character without a “flat” look.

#2 CONTROL OVER THE MATERIAL

Whether you’re shaping footwear or creating 3D embossing, a single mistake can undo many hours of work. That’s why it’s crucial for the material to behave the same way every time. Cork filler delivers a stable, predictable result you can rely on, rather than guessing how your idea will turn out this time.

It reduces the need for corrections and last-minute fixes. The leather holds its shape, and you can focus on form, detail and finishing — instead of repairing what went wrong.

#3 NO TIME-CONSUMING MIXING

There’s no need to prepare your own mixture or measure proportions. You open the tin and get straight to work. Manual mixing of gum arabic, leather dust and endless test batches is no longer necessary.

Every tin delivers the same, predictable result. In practice, that means less preparation, less risk, and more reliable results in your project.
