Trying to get your hands on proper chunks of cork? Big retailers? They all stock identical, dull-looking stuff – no personality, no charm. Real ground cork pieces are a different league. They’re not neatly trimmed or identical – they’re raw, durable bits, each with its own look and feel, yet consistently natural, adaptable, and top quality.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE CORK NUGGETS?
They’re free-form, uneven bits of natural cork – each one is different, and that’s part of their appeal. Typically just a few centimetres across, they’re super light and have a natural surface. These are the biggest type of cork granules available.
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH THIS KIND OF NATURAL CORK?
There’s a massive range of uses – both hands-on and imaginative.
- In building projects – perfect as a natural heat and sound insulator, especially in lighter constructions.
- In small-scale industry – as a green-friendly material that’s easy to cut.
- For furniture makers – as a natural, lightweight filler used in eco-conscious designs.
- In floor manufacturing – ideal for creating anti-slip surfaces.
- For models and props – great for simulating stones, debris, and terrain in dioramas or sets.
- In terrarium setups – a safe, mould-resistant decor option.
- For creative types – brilliant for crafts, decorations, and DIY projects.
- For school projects – a favourite among kids and teachers alike.
- In home decor – stylish as a natural filler in bowls, vases, or even in fish tanks.
WHAT IS THE DENSITY OF CORK PIECES?
For pieces sized 10–20 mm, the density averages around 135–145 kg/m³. The bigger ones, sized 10–50 mm, about 130–140 kg/m³.
HOW DO SHREDDED CORK PIECES DIFFER FROM STANDARD GRANULES?
It mostly comes down to size and how they look – chunks of cork are significantly larger, while regular granules are smaller. The finest grade, called cork dust, feels a lot like flour or sand.
WHAT MAKES NATURAL CORK SPECIAL?
It’s super light, adaptable, and durable. It resists moisture and doesn’t collect dust, thanks to its antistatic surface. Plus, it’s non-toxic and perfectly safe for kids and pets. Best of all, it’s 100% natural.
IS NATURAL CORK REALLY A GREEN MATERIAL?
Definitely. It grows naturally, can be harvested again and again, and breaks down completely over time. No synthetic alternative comes close when it comes to its structure, light feel, and one-of-a-kind features.
Fun fact: cork oak trees soak up loads of CO₂ – far more than most leafy trees. What’s more, the more frequently their bark is stripped, the more carbon they pull from the air.
DOES THIS GROUND CORK PRODUCT HAVE CERTIFICATION?
Yes, it does – our cork granules come with an official hygiene certificate from the National Institute of Public Health (PZH) in Poland. It guarantees the cork is entirely safe for skin contact, without causing irritation, allergic reactions.
At the moment, we’re the only company in Poland offering certified cork granules like these.
DO CORK NUGGETS PIECES REPEL WATER?
They do – cork naturally resists moisture thanks to its cellular makeup that contains suberin.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO PAINT OR TRIM SHREDDED CORK FOR DIY?
Absolutely – cork-friendly paints are your best bet, though water-based and acrylics also work well. Just steer clear of solvent-based products, as they can ruin the cork's structure.
To cut cork, simply use a sharp knife.
HOW IS GROUND CORK MADE?
It’s created using a mechanical milling method, which makes sure every bit of cork is put to good use. The final product is light, useful, and still 100% natural.
WHAT SIZE ARE CORK NUGGETS?
Each piece is typically a few centimetres across – though they vary, which is exactly the charm. These chunks are an uneven grade, staying true to cork’s natural form.
Cork doesn’t have that polished, cookie-cutter look you’d find in a catalogue – and that’s its charm. Cork chunks come just as nature intended: uneven, full of texture, and full of character. They’re not mass-produced – and harvesting them doesn’t involve cutting down a single tree.

#1 GENUINE CORK – NOT A LOOKALIKE
Cork chunks aren’t made in a factory – each one is different from the next. Some are full of pores, others more solid, and many just completely irregular – and that’s the magic. These pieces are high-quality, durable, and keep their natural look over time.
The cork you get in chain stores is often overly dense and artificially compacted – but authentic cork pieces are a totally different story. Hold one, and you’ll feel it – the lightness, the softness, the natural imperfections. It’s a completely different standard altogether.
#2 LIGHT AS A FEATHER
When working on something that needs to stay light – like hanging displays, models, theatre props or creative builds – too much weight just gets in the way. These cork chunks are lightweight. In structures where weight matters, cork makes the perfect thermal and sound insulator.
Natural cork is prized as a light and eco-conscious technical material – it’s simple to use, durable, and won’t weigh anything down. It’s very hands-on and accessible – no need for specialised tools or big equipment. Its low weight makes it super easy to handle.
#3 MULTI-FUNCTIONAL AND KIND TO SURFACES
Cork stays stable when in contact with most chemicals, making it ideal for challenging environments. While other materials fade, deform or fall apart, cork keeps its shape and look. Its inherent durability makes it not only long-lasting, but also a dependable and safe option.
Cork is also known as a “soft-touch” material – it doesn’t mark or scuff other surfaces. This makes it a go-to for projects that need not just natural style, but also careful material compatibility.
Adaptability and compressibility are more great reasons to choose cork. That’s why it’s widely used in things like underlays, padding, insulating layers, and even in sports gear.
#4 PLASTIC ALTERNATIVES VS AUTHENTIC TREE CORK
Synthetic granules are made by melting down plastic-based materials – like rubber and polymers. Even if they look good on the surface, they’re still repurposed industrial waste. Real cork grows on trees – literally. No factories, no fumes, no science lab needed. It’s like comparing a plastic houseplant to a thriving green one – we all know which one feels real.
Plastic substitutes eventually wear down, crumble, and release particles – often so small you won’t see them, but they’re there. Those bits end up polluting nature, water and soil. Cork is clean and safe. Even when it breaks apart, it returns to the earth – just like a twig or fallen leaf. Nothing left behind to harm the planet.
