WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF USING CORK EXPANSION JOINTS?

Cork expansion gap filler is primarily used to prevent cracks and deformations in flooring due to temperature and humidity fluctuations. Without proper expansion joints, your floor can deform, which in turn leads to unsightly cracks. Without adequate expansion, the floor will eventually start cracking due to changes in room conditions.

HOW CAN I PROPERLY APPLY LIQUID CORK?

Before you apply liquid cork, make sure the surface is clean and dry to avoid problems with adhesion and cracking of the cork coating. Also, secure the surroundings with painter's tape to ensure cleanliness and precision in work. For joints measuring 5 × 5 mm, the performance from a 500 ml package is 20 meters running, while for joints measuring 8 × 8 mm it is 7.8 meters running. For precise application of the cork mass, we recommend using a dedicated liquid cork gun. Before inserting the cork tube into the gun, cut off the end of the package. Then, before using the gun, cut off the end of the cork tube. Once you have applied the expansion, use a putty knife or spatula to remove excess and smooth out the mass.

After drying, it is worthwhile to protect the expansion with cork floor sealant, which will ensure cleanliness for many years.

It is also ideal for areas around fireplaces and any places on the floor where there are pipes.

WHAT COLOR IS LIQUID CORK?

Bostik 3070 has a natural cork brown color. Once dry, you can paint or varnish the cork. We recommend our range of cork paints.

CAN LIQUID CORK BE USED INSTEAD OF A CORK STRIP?
