WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS IS 1.5 MM CORK IN A ROLL SUITABLE FOR?

It works well wherever you need a thinner finish, but not the thinnest possible option. You can use it to cover walls, furniture, doors, shelves and drawers, as well as to create decorations and craft elements. It also provides a practical layer of protection against light scuffs.

HOW SHOULD I APPLY A SELF-ADHESIVE CORK IN A ROLL?

The surface where you are installing the cork must be even, clean, dry, free from grease and dust. Only then can the self-adhesive layer bond properly to the surface. Do not apply the roll directly over old wallpaper, crumbling plaster, a dirty wall or an uneven surface. Make sure the surface is thoroughly prepared before installation.

Remember to acclimatise the cork as well by leaving it in the room where it will be installed for 72 hours.

WILL A 1.5 MM CORK IN A ROLL INSULATE THE WALL?

A layer this thin will not provide any noticeable thermal insulation for the room. Cork can reduce direct contact with a cold wall and make the surface feel warmer to the touch, but its main purpose is decoration and protection. For acoustic or thermal insulation, you will need a much thicker material – over 10 mm or expanded cork.

A 1.5 mm cork roll is a good choice when you want a thinner finish. It creates a slightly more noticeable layer than the thinnest rolls, while still being easy to cut to size and apply to different elements.

You can use it to finish walls, refresh furniture fronts, protect shelves or line the inside of cupboards and drawers. It is also useful for making decorations, coasters, models and craft elements.

The natural structure of cork gives even a simple element a warmer look. Its organic appearance is part of the material, not a flaw. This means you do not need any additional prints or artificial patterns to achieve an interesting effect.

The self-adhesive backing makes it easier to move from an idea to quick installation. The adhesive is already applied to the underside of the material, so there is no need to choose a separate product or spread it over the surface. You just need to make sure beforehand that the surface is even, dry, clean, free from grease and dust.
