WHY USE PARQUET VARNISH FOR CORK FLOOR?
Varnish is mainly applied to help your cork flooring maintain its attractive appearance for longer and to provide better protection against the effects of everyday use. It creates a matte protective layer that helps keep the cork in excellent condition for years to come.
WHICH FLOORS IS THE MATT VARNISH SUITABLE FOR?
The varnish is designed for parquet flooring made of cork and wood. It forms a durable protective coating and works perfectly in rooms used on a daily basis.
Note: The varnish should only be applied to raw cork. If the surface has been previously varnished, the new layer may not adhere properly.
WHAT FINISH WILL I GET AFTER APPLYING MATT VARNISH FOR NATURAL CORK?
The varnish provides a matte finish that gives the surface a subtle and elegant appearance.
IS APPLYING THE VARNISH DIFFICULT?
No, you’ll manage it with ease. This is a single-component varnish, ready to use straight from the tin. There’s no need to add a hardener or catalyst, unlike with two-component products. This makes the application simpler and eliminates the risk of mixing errors.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE THE FLOOR BEFORE VARNISHING?
The floor should be even, smooth, and dry. For the best results, the material’s moisture level should not exceed 12% — this is crucial for ensuring a durable bond between the varnish and the surface. Before application, remove all old finishing layers as well as any traces of oil, grease, wax, silicone, dust, and other contaminants. The cleaner the surface, the more durable and visually appealing the final coating will be.
HOW TO VARNISH A CORK FLOOR PROPERLY?
- Start by shaking the varnish vigorously to achieve a smooth, even consistency.
- If the floor has been glued down, wait until the adhesive is completely dry before proceeding.
- Apply three even coats using a roller. After the first coat, leave it to dry overnight — this allows the moisture to evaporate and the cork to stabilise. Between each subsequent coat, wait 4–6 hours. Before applying the final layer, lightly sand the surface to ensure a flawless finish.
Remember to maintain the right conditions while working: the room temperature should be between +15°C and +25°C, air humidity between 40% and 75%, and the material temperature between +18°C and +25°C. Also, make sure the room is well ventilated.
WHAT IS THE COVERAGE OF THIS PARQUET VARNISH FOR CORK FLOOR?
The average varnish consumption is between 80 and 120 ml per 1 m². This range refers to a single coat — with the recommended three coats, the total product usage will be proportionally higher.
DOES THE VARNISH NEED TO BE DILUTED?
No, the varnish is ready to use straight after opening the container and does not require any dilution.
HOW AND WHERE SHOULD WS EASYFINISH BE STORED?
The varnish is best stored at room temperature or slightly lower, but always above +5°C. It must be protected from frost, as it is a water-based product. When stored correctly, the varnish remains stable for up to 12 months.
Do you want to protect your cork flooring but worry that varnish might spoil its natural look? It’s true — an artificial, “plastic” effect can ruin the overall appearance. The solution is a matt varnish, which enhances the natural texture of the cork without altering its character. On top of that, it provides effective protection against everyday wear and tear.

#1 TAKES CARE OF CORK THE RIGHT WAY
Cork is a material that’s generally trouble-free, but it does require proper care. Choosing the right varnish makes a huge difference, as not every product works well with its structure. Some varnishes are too hard or don’t adhere properly, which means the protective layer isn’t as effective as it should be.
WS EasyFinish is a water-based varnish, which means you won’t experience the strong odour typical of solvent-based products during application. On top of that, it dries faster and is gentler on the cork’s surface.
#2 PREMIUM QUALITY AT A GREAT PRICE
Although WS EasyFinish is a single-component varnish and very easy to use, the final result is on par with two-component products. Once dry, the floor is smooth and even.
Thanks to the protective coating, the cork maintains its elegant appearance for a long time. The matt finish enhances the natural character of the material, while minor marks and dirt are less noticeable. It’s premium quality — at a price that makes sense.
#3 EASIER CLEANING
Well-protected cork means everyday comfort. The varnish creates a coating that shields the cork from dirt and makes daily maintenance much simpler.
The result? Less effort when cleaning. A quick wipe with a mop is all it takes — no need for harsh chemicals or time-consuming scrubbing. It saves you time and keeps your floor looking great, even with frequent use.
