Wondering about something? We’ve got the answers!

HOW DO FINE, MEDIUM, AND COARSE-GRAIN CORK BOARD SHEETS DIFFER?

Fine-grain cork board sheets are smoother. They’re ideal for projects needing neat cuts and flexibility. You’ll often see them used in tech gaskets, giveaway items, shoe liners, or coasters. Also work nicely as a stylish and protective layer for walls.

Medium-grain cork board sheets offer a balanced option – smoother than coarse types, but more textured than fine ones. They’re a go-to for pinboards, info boards, and display panels where you want to post things easily.

Coarse-grain cork board sheets have the roughest feel, with a porous and more raw look. They're often chosen for insulation jobs – whether for reducing noise or keeping in heat – like on ceilings, walls, or for technical use.

HOW DO I PROPERLY MOUNT SELF ADHESIVE CORK SHEET?

Place the sheet where it should go, remove the protective layer, and push it down firmly. Don’t forget to press evenly, especially near the corners and sides.

Before getting started, make sure you follow these handy tips:

  1. Only apply on surfaces that are smooth, even, clean, and dust-free – like i.e. plasterboard.
  2. Let the cork board sheets rest in the installation space for 72 hours. Since cork is natural, it adjusts to temperature and humidity – this step prevents issues like shrinking or poor adhesion.

CAN I USE THEM ON UNEVEN OR TEXTURED WALLS?

We don't recommend it. Uneven or slightly textured surfaces may cause the cork to come loose. The adhesive is meant for flat, smooth, dry, and clean areas only.

DOES THE ADHESIVE REALLY STICK WELL?

Yes – the sticky side is strong enough to keep the cork panels firmly in place, as long as the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust. There’s no need for extra glue.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CUT FINE GRAIN SELF ADHESIVE CORK BOARD SHEETS?

Yes, you can cut fine-grain cork without any problem. Just make sure you're using a proper cutting knife for neat edges.

WHAT’S MORE PRACTICAL – ROLLED CORK OR SELF-ADHESIVE SHEETS?

When working on a large area, rolled cork makes more sense – it covers more space with fewer joints. But for smaller-scale tasks, cork sheets do the trick and are easier to handle.

CAN I USE CORK BOARD SHEETS UNDER FLOORING?

For anything flooring-related, go with a cork underlay or floor cork panels to get the best results.

CAN I INSTALL CORK IN ROOMS WITH MOISTURE?

Yes, cork performs well in humid places, provided the air moisture is kept between 40–60%. Thanks to suberin, a substance in cork, it naturally resists water and mould.

In wetter spaces, though, it’s wise to add a waterproof sealant. Use a cork-compatible varnish to keep its quality and look intact.

IS CORK A GOOD CHOICE FOR HALLWAY WALLS?

For sure! Cork sheets beat both wallpaper and paint in hallways:

  • Paint can wear down and needs regular refreshing.
  • Wallpaper is more likely to rip or lift at the edges.
  • Cork is more durable, holds its colour longer, and stays looking good much longer.

IS CORK A SAFE MATERIAL FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES?

Yes, cork is allergy-friendly – it doesn’t gather dust or host mites, and it’s free of toxic emissions. The natural suberin in cork also helps keep bacteria and fungi at bay.

WHAT SHOULD I USE TO CLEAN NATURAL CORK?

Just wipe it using a soft damp cloth or a mild pH-neutral soap. Avoid anything too strong, as it can harm the surface finish.

CAN I PAINT SELF ADHESIVE CORK BOARD SHEETS?

Yes, cork can be painted. Just go for paints for cork for a better and longer-lasting finish. Applying two coats is usually enough for a smooth, even look. This painting kit will help you get great results without much hassle.

IS FINE-GRAIN CORK GOOD FOR NOTICEBOARDS?

Medium-grain cork is actually more durable for pinboards, since it holds up better to frequent pinning. Fine-grain cork works nicely as a decorative finish, but not as the main surface for pushpins.

CAN I MAKE GASKETS OUT OF NATURAL CORK?

Yes, it can be cut into almost any shape and is used for everything from household seals to automotive parts.

DO YOU HAVE CORK AVAILABLE IN BIGGER SIZES?

If standard-sized sheets don’t cut it, we suggest picking rolled cork instead – it offers more coverage with fewer seams.

Stick-on cork is a super handy solution. It's light, easy on the eyes, and dead simple to fit – just peel back the film, press it into place, and you’re sorted. No glue runs, no rummaging for gear – it’s all done in a flash, freeing you up for that coffee or your latest binge-worthy show.

Black text WHY is it worth it?» with cork on the right on a white background.

#1 SUPERIOR NATURAL CORK

Fine-grain cork sheets are miles better than the cheap bulk stuff you’ll find in the chains stores. We stick to using reliable natural cork – no bargain-bin options that look decent at first but crumble fast.

Every job has its own quirks, which is why we’ve got a diverse line-up of cork boards – so you’ll have no trouble finding a match. Unlike store-bought packs with their limited choices, ours are designed to do the job right. This isn’t a case of “that’ll probably work” – it’s a dependable material that delivers.

#2 HASSLE-FREE SETUP – NO GLUE, NO STRESS

You know how it goes – you plan a DIY project and right away it gets complicated. You’re hunting down glue, covering furniture, getting gloves on, laying out all the gear. Before long, you’re knee-deep in mess.

With self-adhesive cork panels, none of that nonsense happens. It’s plain sailing – peel, press, done. Even if you've never done it before, it’s easy. You’ll skip the stress and get straight to the fun part: enjoying the result.

#3 A GREEN CHOICE THAT MATTERS

Cork is naturally sourced and seriously eco-conscious. It comes from the bark of cork oaks – which grow back every 9–12 years, meaning the trees aren’t harmed. In fact, these oaks pull in around five times more CO₂ than other trees. So every cork sheet is doing the planet a favour.

Just take a look around – plastics and cheap panels are everywhere, and they’re clogging up landfills. Cork is the opposite: clean, biodegradable, and straight from nature. It may seem like a small step, but it’s one that really counts.

#4 IDEAL FOR CREATIVE PRINTING

Fine-grain cork comes with another bonus – its flat surface makes it excellent for detailed printing. Whether you’re designing invites or custom bits, you’ll get punchy colours, neat lines, and a sharp finish every time.

Thanks to the smooth texture, ink spreads evenly across the surface, avoiding smudges and giving a tidy, lasting result that really holds up.
