#2 WHERE DOES CORK COME FROM?

Cork comes from the outer layer of bark of the cork oak, rather than from the wood itself. The tree does not need to be cut down – the bark is carefully removed from the trunk, while the cork oak continues to grow. These trees are found mainly in Mediterranean countries, especially Portugal and Spain.

The same material is later used in a wide range of products. It can be turned into bottle stoppers, interior furnishings, coasters, everyday accessories and, of course, the cork finishes used on workout mats.
