HOW SHOULD I INSTALL A 6MM CORK ROLL ON A WALL?

To achieve the best result, we suggest using Wakol D-3540 cork adhesive, a product we have tested and rely on. Typical adhesive consumption is 150-250 g/m² – a 0.8 kg pack is enough for roughly 4 m², while a 2.5 kg pack will cover about 12.5 m².

Prepare the wall by making sure the surface is clean, dry, and even.

Spread the adhesive over both the wall and the reverse side of the cork roll.

Allow the adhesive to become transparent – that means it is ready for bonding!

Press the natural cork against the wall, smoothing the surface as you work.

Let it dry thoroughly – Wakol needs around 24 hours to cure completely.

WHICH TOOLS ARE BEST FOR CUTTING A 6MM CORK ROLL?

Simple tools such as a cork knife or scissors are perfectly suitable. Just make sure they are very sharp so the edges do not fray.

CAN I GET CORK ROLLS WITH A PRE-APPLIED ADHESIVE LAYER?

Of course! We offer self-adhesive cork rolls made for wall applications. If you want to avoid a traditional installation process, this is a convenient choice.

Keep in mind, however, that the self-adhesive backing performs best on smooth, flat, clean, and dust-free surfaces, including plasterboard and furniture panels.

A 6mm cork roll for walls is a great solution when you want to build a large cork board. It can even cover an entire wall! If you need plenty of room for notes, photos, or plans, this roll gives you a practical surface. Because it is much larger than standard cork sheets, you will also have fewer visible joins on the wall. To make a pin board, simply fix the natural cork to a backing material such as fibreboard.

Natural cork is hypoallergenic and safe to use – an advantage that cannot always be taken for granted with other materials. This helps maintain cleaner air and can reduce problems associated with allergens.

There’s another benefit too! Natural cork is an environmentally friendly material because virtually nothing is discarded. Any bark that is not turned into wine stoppers can be used for something else – from flooring and insulation to fashion accessories. Every part can serve a purpose!
