Questions And Answers

DO I NEED A VHILS COASTER?

Yes, if you:

want something handy to rest your coffee mug, cup of tea or glass of water on;
only need one square coaster rather than a whole set;
prefer not to put drinks directly on your desk or table to avoid leaving wet marks on the surface.

WHAT’S THE SIZE OF THE VHILS COASTER?

The coaster measures 9.5 × 9.5 cm, is 5 mm thick and weighs just around 11 g. Its compact, square shape is just the right size for a mug of coffee, a cup of tea or a glass of water.

WHERE IS THE VHILS SQUARE CORK COASTER MOST USEFUL?

The coaster is versatile, so you can use it in just about any room. It's particularly handy on your desk, whether you're at home, at work or studying.

In these everyday situations, it's good to have a designated spot for your mug or glass, rather than placing it directly on the surface.

There's usually no shortage of plastic, metal, cables and electronics on a desk. It's hard to avoid, especially if you spend several hours a day at your computer. But even among all these things, there's still room for a little touch of nature. Even something as simple as a cork coaster.

#1 PRACTICAL FOR EVERYDAY USE

Vhils is a simple cork coaster designed to be practical above all else – and that's exactly what it is. You place your mug or glass on it, and it protects your desk or table from wet marks and drops of your drink.

It doesn't draw too much attention, either. Its natural, attractive colour makes it easy to fit into any setting. And if your desk is full of electronics, plastic and metal, cork makes a welcome change.

#2 CORK FROM PORTUGAL

Natural cork is a material that comes from Portugal. Harvesting the bark of cork oak trees has a long tradition there, passed down from generation to generation. It's a skill that requires experience, patience and a steady hand. Interestingly, the trees aren't cut down during harvesting – only the outer layer of bark is removed, which gradually grows back over time.

Cork itself is a fascinating material, too. It feels completely different from plastic or rubber – has a natural, slightly uneven texture and is pleasant to touch. It might seem like just an ordinary coaster, but behind it lies a material with a truly long and interesting history.
